The 2007 Capitol Christmas Ornament is Here!

Christmas Ornament 2007

Photo by George Lane, Independent Record

The Montana Capitol Restoration Foundation presents the arrival of
Rapid Transit, 1901 - Stagecoach to Capitol City.

This is the second in a series of ornaments created for the continued historic benefit of "The People's House" - the Capitol of the State of Montana in Helena.

Each ornament is boxed and includes a card with Ellen Baumler's history notes on stagecoaches operating near the Capitol. This Christmas Gift Idea can serve as either a handsome Christmas display or a Christmas tree ornament. Whether you are looking for a holiday ornament, a tree ornament, or Christmas collectable, this gift will highlight a moment of Montana history. This ornament is created by the same company that creates the White House ornaments every year.

Our Virtual Hall of Governors Display now features a brief biography of each of Montana's previous governors.

You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to read each biography. If you need this FREE program, visit the Adobe Website and download the program.

Do you have a great story about any of Montana's governors?

  • Campaign happenings
  • Interactions with the legislature, courts or the media
  • Family events
  • Talents that don't appear in the biographies

Do you have a previously unpublished photo of any of Montana's governors and/or their families?

We would like to publish stories and photos on this website and are currently considering the idea of writing a book on Montana Governors to benefit the Montana Capitol Restoration Foundation Endowment. Please e-mail or mail your stories and photos to:
